madwomen scottish folds

With their gentle personalities, intelligent eyes, and famously folded ears, we fell in love with the sweet nature and endearing charm of the Scottish Fold. However, as responsible breeders, we also understand the importance of breeding ethically and prioritising the long-term health and welfare of our cats above all else.

Because the folded ears in Scottish Folds are caused by a genetic mutation that can be linked to osteochondrodysplasia (a condition that affects cartilage and bone development), Scottish Folds should never be bred with other Folds (or carriers of the fold FD gene). The British Shorthair’s strong bone structure, balanced proportions, and calm temperament make it the ideal outcross to maintain the health, stability, and beautiful characteristics of the Fold line. Over time, our admiration for the Scottish Fold breed grew, and we began selectively breeding them alongside our British Shorthairs —not only to produce healthy, happy Fold kittens, but also to celebrate and preserve the Scottish Fold breed itself.
